Abstract: A prefabricated curtain-wall system comprises an assembly of reinforced concrete panels. The reinforcement of the concrete is provided by a grid of horizontal and vertical metal rods, tied together where they cross. Connection between two adjacent panels utilizes an external bracket with two bolts, each bolt mating with a nut protruding from a slotted bracket embedded in each of two adjacent panels The embedded brackets have eyelets for passage of a rod of the reinforcing grid. The lowermost panels of the system are anchored to the building foundation, thus the load of the entire curtain wall system and the embedded reinforcing grid can be transmitted to the foundation. The system incorporates means of adjusting the fitting together of panels to compensate for minor deviations in the dimensions and elevations of construction elements.

Abstract: The present invention is a strong, safety barrier that can be affixed to the inside of a wood or metal-framed opening at a construction site so as to prevent passage and resulting injury while permitting installation of finished walls and flooring. In particular, the safety barrier consists of a material, in a substantially planar shape, that attaches to the lower, inside area between the rough opening of a passage way in the area of a building that is under construction and not safe for human passage, which when properly installed, will prevent human passage and resultant injury and also provide a written warning of danger, with universally recognized signage.

Abstract: A flooring system including horizontal metal framing members, for example, C-joists, U-joists, open web joists, HAMBRO or other metal frame systems that support a reinforced, lightweight, dimensionally stable SCP panel. The flooring system is non-combustible, water durable, mold and rot resistant, termite resistant and is capable of resisting shear loads equal to or exceeding shear loads provided by plywood or oriented strand board panels. The panels employ one or more layers of a continuous phase resulting from the curing of an aqueous mixture of inorganic binder, for example, calcium sulfate alpha hemihydrate, hydraulic cement, an active pozzolan and lime. The continuous phase is reinforced with glass fibers and contains lightweight filler particles, for example, ceramic microspheres.

Abstract: This invention relates to a structural cementitious panel (SCP) panel able to resist lateral forces imposed by high wind and earthquake loads in regions where they are required by building codes. These panels may be used for shear walls, flooring or roofing or other locations where shear panels are used in residential or commercial construction. The panels employ one or more layers of a continuous phase resulting from the curing of an aqueous mixture of inorganic binder reinforced with glass fibers and containing lightweight filler particles. One or more reinforcement members, such as mesh or plate sheets, are bonded to at least one surface of the panel to provide a completed panel that can breathe and has weather resistant characteristics to be capable of sustaining exposure to the elements during construction, without damage.

Abstract: Glazing system for buildings, comprising a number of module elements (1) arranged to be joined to parts that are part of a building without intermediate framework. The elements comprises a glass sheet (3) each, which is supported by the frame (18) of the building, by means of supporting elements (22) and is retained in an intended position by means of retaining devices (23) supported by the frame, which retaining devices (23) each one is arranged to be joined with the sheet by means of attachment elements (12). The attachment elements (12) are arranged with organs (38) for coupling the attachment elements to coupling organs (43) on the respective retaining device (23), before being mounted on the building frame, the module elements (1) are arranged with the attachment elements (12) attached, which thus form a handling protection against damages of the edge of the sheet (3).

Abstract: A subframe for retrofitting an existing roof with a new roof is disclosed. In some embodiments, the subframe comprises a base, a first and second longitudinal flanges, a first wall extending between the base and the first longitudinal flange, a second wall spaced apart from the first wall and extending between the base and the second longitudinal flange, and a traversely-oriented punch out passing through the base, the first wall and the second wall. The punch out is configured to receive a rib of the existing roof. Once installed on the existing roof and coupled to the new roof, the subframe and new roof form an enclosed, self-supporting structure with increased structural capacity and stability in comparison to conventional retrofitted roof systems.
