Abstract: A smoke deflector includes a pole, a handle on a first end of the pole, and a fan assembly mounted on a second end of the pole opposite the handle. A method for using a smoke deflector to blow smoke away from a smoke detector includes the steps of holding the smoke deflector by the handle, adjusting the pole of the smoke deflector to set a desired length, adjusting the fan assembly of the smoke deflector to a desired angle, positioning the fan assembly adjacent to the smoke detector, and turning on the smoke deflector.
Abstract: A portable propelling system including a driver removably coupled to a drive end portion of a shaft, and a propeller connected to a prop end portion of the shaft. The shaft may extend through an outer casing. The driver may be configured to rotate the shaft and the propeller about a rotational axis of the shaft relative to the outer casing. One or more water-buoyant components, such as one or more sections of polymeric closed-cell foam, may be disposed around the outer casing. A flexible strap may be coupled to the outer casing. A first end portion of the flexible strap may be operable between a connected position and a towing position. The system may be a telescoping system operable between collapsed and extended positions along the rotational axis.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a control and regulation method for a rotorcraft having at least one variable-pitch propulsive propeller driven by at least one power source, said method consisting in generating at least one mean pitch setpoint ?tcl* for the propeller(s) as a function of a thrust variation control order Tcl, wherein the method consists in defining a plurality of operating modes, including: a direct mode in which the value of the mean pitch value is a direct result of the control order Tcl; a forced mode in which the mean pitch is automatically forced to a calculated pitch value; a regulated mode in which the power of the propulsive propeller(s) is regulated as a function of a power setpoint from a pilot and of servo-controlling the mean pitch of the propeller(s); and a protected mode.
Abstract: A concentric-double-shaft simultaneously rotating apparatus in which a part of the force for driving an inner shaft to rotate is obtained by a device other than a rotation controlled motor to thereby reduce the capacity of the rotation controlled motor to attain reduction in size of the apparatus, increase of stiffness, and so on. The concentric-double-shaft simultaneously rotating apparatus includes at least one permanent magnet which is attached onto an inner circumferential surface of an outer shaft, and a secondary conductor such as a copper pipe, or the like, is provided on an outer circumferential surface of the inner shaft to create an induced current flow.
Abstract: A whisk having a longitudinally extending handle with a front end. Several wire loops with open free ends extend from the front end of the handle and form a V-shape. Several rectilinear parts connect the open free ends of the V. The whisk is adapted to contact a large surface of the bottom of a flat-bottomed container and reach into the corners of the container.
