The first switching circuit is driven in accordance with a first duty cycle. The apparatus comprises a second switching circuit coupled with the load and driven in accordance with a second duty cycle. The controller is configured to vary said first and said second duty cycles to keep the power supply voltage for the load above or equal to a threshold voltage.

    Abstract: A multilayer, ceramic dielectric power capacitor made of plural layers of thin films of dielectric material having a thickness between 20 and 200 microns and a dielectric strength which is greater than that of thick layers, but which reduces the volume of the capacitor. Formed on each dielectric thin film is a conductive foil having a thickness between 2 and 10 microns. The thickness of the dielectric films is quite thin to reduce the volume of the capacitor, while that of the foils is thick, as compared to the prior art, to facilitate removal of heat. An anti-corona groove is provided to protect the connections at the capacitor terminals. The capacitor is useful in high frequency generator applications.

    Abstract: A resolver having two inputs, one from a master pulse source and the other from a controlled device, and representative of the speed of that device is constituted by an up/down counter. An output is taken from the counter to provide a threshold so that when the counter is counting above that threshold a first output signal is derived which may be full on, and when the counter is counting below the threshold a second output is derived which may be full off. When the resolver is operating in normal steady state, the counter is counting up and down about the threshold, with the output alternating between full on and full off each time period.
