In the laser cutting method, the display substrate and the display device, as a cutting line is defined by two width defining dams on both sides of a region to be cut, the width of the cutting line can be adjusted by adjusting the distance between the two width defining dams. Thus, the width of the laser cutting line is controlled, and the effective use area of the substrate may be saved (and the material may be saved). Meanwhile, as the width defining dams are made of a laser reflective material, a laser beam irradiated onto the width defining dams is reflected without being absorbed by the width defining dams and thus transmitted to a corresponding region on the substrate. As a result, the generation of a carbonization region is avoided.

  • Patent number: 9766496
Abstract: An emissive display system includes an electro-optic device having a first substantially transparent substrate including first and second surfaces. At least one of the first and second surfaces includes a first electrically conductive layer. A second substantially transparent substrate includes third and fourth surfaces, at least one including a second electrically conductive layer. A primary seal between the second and third surfaces includes a first epoxy layer and a second epoxy layer. A gasket is disposed between the first and second epoxy layers. The seal and the first and second substrates define a substantially hermetic cavity therebetween. An electro-optic medium is disposed in the cavity and is variably transmissive such that the electro-optic device is operable between substantially clear and darkened states. A substantially transparent light emitting display is disposed adjacent to the electro-optic device, which is converted to the darkened state when the light emitting display is emitting light.

  • Patent number: 9671634
Abstract: A display device substrate includes a transparent substrate arranged in parallel with a face on which an image is displayed and a light-shielding film partially formed on the transparent substrate for shielding light. The light-shielding film has, at a portion of the transparent substrate along an edge thereof on at least one side, a low light-shielding portion having a lower light-shielding capability. The low light-shielding portion is formed with a smaller thickness than that of the other portion in the light-shielding film. With this configuration, even when, in a gang printing display panel in which a plurality of display panels each having the display device substrate are arranged, the light-shielding films of the display panels adjacent to each other are formed continuously, cutting can be performed more easily at a position to be cut.

Abstract: A tileable display panel includes an array of display pixels including central display pixels near a center of the array having a center pixel pitch and perimeter display pixels along a perimeter of the array. A perimeter region surrounds the array. The perimeter region includes a first side that is joinable to a second side of another instance of the tileable display panel to form a multi-panel display. The perimeter region has a width that is greater than at least half the center pixel pitch such that a gap between adjacent perimeter display pixels of the tileable display panel and the other instance of the tileable display panel when forming the multi-panel display is greater than the center pixel pitch. The gap is visually masked by increasing a characteristic of the perimeter display pixels adjacent to the gap relative to the same characteristic of the central display pixels.

Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a mother substrate for display substrates, a display panel and a display device. The mother substrate for display substrates includes a plurality of display substrates and is divided into a display substrate area and a non display substrate area, and at least one film layer of the mother substrate for display substrates has an identical film layer structure in the display substrate area and the non display substrate area. With such arrangement, the arrangement of the at least one film layer is more uniform inside the mother substrate for display substrates, thereby the difference between the stresses applied to the display substrate area and the non display substrate area of the mother substrate for the display substrates by the at least one film layer is reduced significantly.
