Abstract: Disclosed peening machines may include a first disc having grooves on a periphery of the disc, wherein the grooves are configured to hold a first workpiece; a second disc having grooves on a periphery of the disc, wherein the grooves are configured to hold a second workpiece. The first and second discs are coaxially aligned with each other and a groove of the first disc is positioned to be aligned with a groove of the second disc. A first reciprocating push rod is positioned to be aligned with a groove of the first disc, a second reciprocating push rod is positioned to be aligned with a groove of the second disc, and a reciprocating peening needle is positioned perpendicular to the first and second pushrods. The peening machine may assemble metal pen tips to ink guide cores by peening the metal pen tips to the ink guide cores.
Abstract: A connector having a plurality of terminals that are integrally incorporated in a connector housing, in a given arrangement, with a high degree of accuracy. The connector includes a prealigner having a plurality of terminal holding recesses, a plurality of terminals fitted into and held in the terminal holding recesses in a given alignment, and a housing main body molded so that the prealigner is interposed in the housing main body as an insert element.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for extending the life of a booster valve in an automatic transmission. The booster valve commonly resides in the pump stator body and is modulated by reverse oil pressure and pressure control solenoid pressure signals. Pressure signals from the reverse oil pressure and the pressure control solenoid force a booster valve piston towards a pressure regulator valve piston also generally residing in the pump stator body. The booster valve piston slides inside a booster valve sleeve, and over time, the booster valve sleeve wears and the performance of the booster valve degrades or fails. The present invention replaces an original inner booster valve spring with a longer (or in some cases shorter) replacement booster valve spring to shift the operating range of the booster valve piston to an unworn portion of the booster valve sleeve to extend the life of the booster valve.
Abstract: Methods and tools are disclosed for disassembling hand made, high quality writing instruments. Hand made, high quality writing instruments are typically comprised of several different components. The methods and tools allow the individual components of a writing instrument to be disassembled without marring or destroying the components of the writing instrument. The tools for disassembling a hand made, high quality pen comprise a first shaft for removing the pen tip, and a second shaft and spreader for removing the internal mechanism of the pen without destroying the pen's internal mechanism or marring the surface of the pen body.
Abstract: A machine is shown which assembles a barrel, spring, piece of lead, lead plunger, barrel tip and eraser into an automatic pencil. The steps of assembly include: Pressing the lead plunger onto the lead. Placing the plunger and lead into the spring and tapping the plunger to turn its extending tabs into the coils of the spring. Placing the plunger, lead and spring into the barrel. Extending the spring from the barrel and pressing the barrel tip onto the spring and then pressing the tip into the barrel. Pressing the eraser into the barrel.
Abstract: This invention relates to a machine which receives ballpoint pen barrel assemblies in bulk form, feeds these barrel assemblies in single-file order and orients them over a preassembled refill, spring and cap assembly which is carried along a predetermined path.
