  • Publication number: 20140332169
Abstract: A retractable and extendable covering device (1) for architectural openings, which includes first and second substantially parallel posts (3, 5), a retractable and extendable substantially rectangular screen member (7), and a first flexible guide member (9; 109). The first flexible guide member (9; 109) is deflected into one of the first and second posts (3, 5) and slidably receivable therein. Each of the parallel posts (3, 5) has a hollow interior (19, 23), and at least one of the first and second posts being movable toward and away with respect to the other. The retractable and extendable screen member (7) has first and second pairs of opposite parallel edges and is mounted between the first and second parallel posts (3, 5) at its first pair of parallel edges. The first flexible guide member (9; 109) extends along one edge of the second pair of parallel edges of the screen member (7) and between the first and second posts (3, 5) for retaining the one edge of the screen member (7).

  • Publication number: 20130306247
Abstract: Improvements in a complete window screen with frame disclosed. The improvements disclosed are the use of One-Way Perforated Vinyl (polyvinyl chloride) window privacy film material as the inner perforated function within a window screen frame that is then attached to the window screen by inserting the material into an recessed groove indented in the window screen frame and is held to the window screen frame by the use of window screen spline. This window screen material is then wrapped around the window screen frame attached by adhesives to apply the functional capabilities and ornamental design throughout the completed product. This product can have a chosen designed image printed with the use of a wide format printer.

  • Patent number: 6164361
Abstract: A one-way insect screen limits ingress of insects to an enclosed area, yet allows egress of insects from the enclosed area, by inclusion of a number of one-way passageways. The passageways are made by a number of flaps, moveable by insects making egress but not readily moveable by insects attempting to make ingress. Flaps of varying sizes are used for different sized insects. Alternatively, flaps that require relatively little force to open a small way, but more force to open further, permit egress of different sized insects while limiting ingress of such insects.

  • Patent number: 4972540
Abstract: A swimming pool escape system is provided for use by animals and insects to egress a swimming pool subsequent to inadvertent entry into the body of water contained within the perimeter portion of the pool. The system includes a base member disposed on the perimeter portion of the swimming pool and a ramp system pivotedly coupled to the base member. The ramp system is pivotedly coupled to the base member on one end and an opposing end extends into the volume of water contained within the swimming pool and is buoyantly supported thereby to allow the animal to egress from the body of water to the perimeter portion of the swimming pool.
